PetMed Express Fiscal Q3 Earnings Meet Views

PetMed Express said Monday that its fiscal Q3 net income was unchanged at $0.24 per share, in line with the average estimate from analysts polled by Capital IQ.

The marketer of prescription and non-prescription pet medications said revenue in the quarter ended Dec. 31 rose to $52.9 million from $50.9 million and was a tick higher than the $52.7 million consensus.

“Our average order size increased to $81 for the quarter ended December 31, 2016, compared to $78 for the same quarter in the prior year,” CEO Menderes Akdag said. “We were also encouraged with our advertising efficiency, as our new customer acquisition costs were reduced to $32 for the quarter ended December 31, 2016 compared to $41 for the same quarter in the prior year.”
