Exa Posts Q3 Beat

Exa reported financial results for fiscal Q3, with better-than-expected earnings and revenue; it also provided revenue guidance for Q4 and fiscal 2017 in line with estimates.

For the quarter ended Oct. 31, the provider of simulation software for product engineering posted non-GAAP earnings of $0.04 per share, compared with the prior-year period’s $0.00 per share. Two analysts on Capital IQ were expecting a loss of $0.01 per share.

Revenue was $19.2 million, up 13% from $17 million in the same quarter last year. The Street view is for revenue of $19.1 million. The company expects Q4 revenue of $19.3 million – $20.9 million, versus the Street view of $20.9 million. For the full year, it sees revenue of $72.4 million – $74 million, compared with forecast of $73.9 million.
